20:00, 15 February, 2020YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 15, ARMENPRESS. The meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev kicked off on February 15 on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Armenpress correspondent reports from Munich.
After the meeting the leaders of the two countries will participate in a discussion on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the frames of the Conference. The moderator of the discussion is the President and CEO of the U.S. Russia Foundation (USRF) Celeste Wallander.
The 56th Munich Security Conference launched on February 14. Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan and President Armen Sarkissian are attending the Conference.

Президент Азербайджана Ильхам Алиев и премьер-министр Армении Никол Пашинян впервые приняли участие в открытых панельных обсуждениях конфликта в Нагорном Карабахе. Стороны подискутировали о ситуации в регионе на Мюнхенской конференции по безопасности, сообщает турецкое новостное агенство «Анадолу».
В ходе дебатов «Новые тенденции в нагорно-карабахском конфликте» Алиев заявил, что еще в 1921 году большевистское представительство в регионе приняло решение «сохранить Карабах в составе Азербайджана». Именно поэтому, считает Алиев, позиция армянской стороны о том, что Карабах был передан Азербайджану, не соответствует действительности.
В то же время Пашинян отметил, «международное сообщество устало» от повторяющихся годами доводов сторон, передает Deutsche Welle. «Невозможно решить 30-летний конфликт за 1-2 шага», — сказал премьер, предложив совершать «мини-революции» и поэтапно отходить от прежних жестких позиций.
По мнению Пашиняна, решение конфликта должно устраивать все три стороны: Армению, Нагорный Карабах и Азербайджан. При этом он считает, что для «лучшего понимания» позиций сторон нужно использовать соцсети, помогающие видеть конфликт в региональном и глобальном контексте.
Алиев высказался за поэтапное решение, при этом подчеркнув, что Баку пойдет на уступки при условии, если Ереван прекратит финансировать Нагорный Карабах и выведет оттуда свои войска. Пашинян ответил, что в регионе нет армянских войск, а лишь местные силы самообороны и добровольцы из Армении.
В 1991 году Нагорный Карабах, населенный преимущественно этническими армянами, провозгласил независимость от Азербайджана. Баку попытался вернуть регион под свой контроль силой. В 1994 году Азербайджан, Армения и непризнанная Нагорно-Карабахская Республика при посредничестве России подписали протокол о перемирии, но военные действия периодически возобновляются. Самым серьезным обострением стала четырехдневная война 2016 года, в ходе которой погибли сотни солдат с обеих сторон.

По мнению Пашиняна, решение конфликта должно устраивать все три стороны: Армению, Нагорный Карабах и Азербайджан. При этом он считает, что для «лучшего понимания» позиций сторон нужно использовать соцсети, помогающие видеть конфликт в региональном и глобальном контексте.
Алиев высказался за поэтапное решение, при этом подчеркнув, что Баку пойдет на уступки при условии, если Ереван прекратит финансировать Нагорный Карабах и выведет оттуда свои войска. Пашинян ответил, что в регионе нет армянских войск, а лишь местные силы самообороны и добровольцы из Армении.
В 1991 году Нагорный Карабах, населенный преимущественно этническими армянами, провозгласил независимость от Азербайджана. Баку попытался вернуть регион под свой контроль силой. В 1994 году Азербайджан, Армения и непризнанная Нагорно-Карабахская Республика при посредничестве России подписали протокол о перемирии, но военные действия периодически возобновляются. Самым серьезным обострением стала четырехдневная война 2016 года, в ходе которой погибли сотни солдат с обеих сторон.
