Ilham, I would like to remind you about my request: Please, release the blogger Elvin Isayev. I think, I am very nice and polite with you.
I read, that he was charged with “inciting riots”. What are the proofs of these charges? Please, publish the details of these charges and information about his health conditions. I am concerned about how he is been treated in prison. Give him the opportunity to state his case and to respond to these charges. Does he have access to the lawyer? Sadly enough, I think that the respect for the Law in Azerbaijan is in a very poor state.
As I said previously, I will continue to follow up on this case, and will keep it and you under the microscope. I think, that you basically are a good person, and do not spoil this initial impression about yourself.
Please, release Elvin Isayev, and let him go.

On the instructions of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Defense Ramiz Tahirov has visited the family of Lieutenant Colonel Rashad Atakishiyev, the pilot of MiG-29 of the Air Force of Azerbaijan crashed during training flights.
Tahirov congratulated the family of the deceased pilot on the upcoming holidays on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, noting that during his service in the Azerbaijan Army Lieutenant Colonel Atakishiyev approved to be a professional, exemplary officer, the patriot of his country, and that his merits were always highly appreciated.
According to the instructions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev, the Medal “For Courage” of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was conferred upon Lieutenant Colonel Rashad Atakishiyev posthumously for his services in the performance of his military duty to defend the Motherland, was presented to his family.
Deputy Minister Ramiz Tahirov also inquired about the concerns of the military pilot’s family and presented holiday gifts. Rashad Atakishiyev’s family members thanked the head of state and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the attention and care.

This historic day, which was first celebrated on the initiative of great leader Heydar Aliyev, is annually celebrated by our people with great enthusiasm as a symbol of the indestructible unity of millions of our compatriots living in foreign countries around the ideology of Azerbaijanism and their loyalty to the motherland.
After the restoration of state independence, Azerbaijan, having demonstrated organized unity and solidarity at the moments of historical trials of our recent past, achieved great development and success in all areas.
Today, due to our independent domestic and foreign policy, growing international authority, economic, political and military power, the Azerbaijani state has entered a new stage in its development. The hosting of numerous authoritative international events discussing peace and security issues of concern to people, the problems of inter-civilizational dialogue, including the second summit of religious leaders of the world, the 17th Summit of the heads of state and government of countries participating in the Non-Aligned Movement and the transfer of chairmanship in it to the Republic of Azerbaijan for the next three years is a clear example of the international authority of our state. It is no coincidence that our capital Baku, which is now one of the most beautiful cities in the world, has become a center of important calls for peace and tranquility on a global scale.
The declaration of the “Year of Nasimi” in Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 650th birthday anniversary of brilliant Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi is one of the significant pages of our public and cultural life this year. President of AzerEnergy Open Joint Stock Company Baba Rzayev informed the head of state of the work done.
Ukraine deported opposition Azerbaijani blogger Elvin Isayev to Azerbaijan ahead of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Azerbaijan, European Truth reported referring to the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
Isayev was placed in remand prison No. 1 of the Azerbaijani Prison Service on December 14 based on the decision of the Nasimi District Court dated August 22, 2019.
A number of Ukrainian media reported the mysterious disappearance of a blogger in Kiev.
Azerbaijan charges blogger extradited from Ukraine

PanARMENIAN.Net – The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan has charged blogger Elvin Isayev with “open calls against the state and calls for riots.”
Azerbaijan’s State Migration Service announced that Isayev was deported from Ukraine on December 12 “for violating Ukrainian immigration law.”
After being provided “temporary shelter after a voluntary medical examination”, Isayev was transferred to a pre-trial detention centre,the Migration Service added.
The Nasimi District Court issued a warrant for Isayev’s arrest on 22 August, based on an investigation by Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office for Grave Crimes.
Family and friends have claimed Isayev was kidnapped in Ukraine at the behest of the Azerbaijani authorities, because of his publications criticising the Azerbaijani authorities.
Azerbaijani human rights activists have questioned the legality of the deportation.

Russia’s Orthodox patriarch has vowed to continue fighting for unity and “canonical purity” throughout 2020.
Meanwhile, the head of Ukraine’s new independent church predicted more Orthodox leaderships would grant him recognition during the coming year.
“No one is summoning us to die as martyrs now, but we are all urging firmness in preserving the unity of sacred Orthodoxy and in keeping faith with the church’s canonical structure”, said Patriarch Kirill. “New work will now be done to strengthen Orthodoxy’s canonical purity, and even greater efforts made to preserve and restore unity where this has been shaken.”
Addressing the Russian church’s advisory Supreme Council in Moscow, Kirill said “schismatic” groups had become a “corrupting, killing force” in world Orthodoxy, but added that the emergence of “real divisions” among breakaway communities in Ukraine suggested the problem was now decreasing. However, the leader of the new Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius Dumenko, said he had received “good, clear signals” that several other Orthodox churches stood poised to recognise his church, despite “violent pressure” from Moscow.
