I want to repeat my advice and opinion: make Crimea a truly Autonomous Republic under the joint aegis of Russia, Ukraine and EU. Turn Crimean naval and military bases into the joint bases of Russia, Ukraine, and NATO. Make Crimea the historical Gates to Europe, in addition to the St. Petersburg Window, which is shut most of the time anyway. There is nothing to fear there, and the benefits are obvious. And this conflict will be solved, once and forever. Affirm and provide the guarantees for the territorial integrity of Ukraine. And for Russia, this is extremely important issue of the European - Transatlantic integration: cultural, economic, military, and political, which appears to be the main strategic issue. Put the Crimea Pearl in its proper historical and geopolitical frame, and both the Pearl and the Frame will shine anew.
