Apparently, Flynn triggered the New Abwehr's greatest fear: the warming of the relationships between the American and the Russian Military circles, and first of all, their Intelligence Services. This was and is the greatest threat and anathema to the Abwehr and the New Abwehr, whose whole, single minded, clear and persistent strategy, for almost a century, was and is to keep them apart as much and as long as possible, using all sorts of bogey men and bogey stories.
